Wasserflue (844 m/2'769 ft) is a well known vantage point. I wanted to capture first light there but the fog was so thick there was no sun to be seen. The weather just didn't play ball. Instead, I ended up taking pictures of trees.
It snowed end of October in Central Switzerland which is quiet unusal, so there was plenty of snow on the Ratenpass (1'077 m/3'533 ft). Another curiosity was that my Lee filters froze because the mountain pass lay in thick clouds, mist, and the temperatures were below zero. A thin sheet of ice covered them, I couldn't use them. Nevertheless, this didn't prevent me from taking pictures. Down in the valley you can see some houses of Rothenthurm, the village is more to the right though.
Groups of fir trees on a very cold night.
